Abstract

Reclaiming wastewater has been recognized as a vital component of sustainable water resources in recent decades because communities across the world face water supply challenges due to increasing demand, drought, depletion and contamination of groundwater, and dependence on single sources of supply. Thus, water reclamation, recycling, and reuse address these challenges by resolving water resource issues and creating new sources of high-quality water supplies. In such scenario, the major goal of wastewater reclamation facilities is to reduce pathogen loads in order to decrease public health risks associated with exposure. Within this context, we propose an assessment of NIOO sanitation system effectiveness in reducing pathogens and providing a microbiology safety water that can be reused.
