Abstract

This project has the purpose to analyze the peri implant bone repair in rats submitted to ovariectomy and treated with genistein (1mg/kg/day) during 60 days. Eighteen rats (Rattus novergicus albinus, Wistar), with middle-weight of 200 grams going to be divided in 3 experimental groups according with the treatment and the analysis that is going to be submitted: SHAM/SAL (rats submitted to sham surgery), OVX/SAL (rats submitted to ovariotomy bilateral, without drug treatment) and OVX/GEN (rats submitted to ovariectomy bilateral, treated with genistein). Each animal will receive 2 implants, being 1 in each tibial metaphysis. The euthanasia of animals will be done 60 days after the installing the implants, by anesthetic overdose. For decalcified group, the 6 tibias of the right side will be submitted to histological and immunohistochemical analysis. And for calcified group, the computer microtomography will be done in 6 left tibia. All the data will be submitted to normal curve to determine of the most appropriate test (parametric or nonparametric). The significance level of 0,05 will be used to all the tests.
