Abstract

A new paradigm on Photonics is the total integration of actives and passives devices, jointly with electronic ones, at the same chip. In this context, ultracompact high functional devices represent a key concept for a new era of telecommunications development. In this work, we propose the design, fabrication and characterization of tunable microlasers on Si - InGaAsP/InP hybrid platform, based on coupled microring resonators as resonant cavity (or part of it). The great flexibility of designs covering this kind of structure and the formation of optical supermodes (those resulting of the coupled system) give us the oportunity of study both on applied science, throught the very interesting spectral responses due to optical coupling, and on fundamental physics research, throught the study of PT-symmetry
