Abstract

Corn (Zea mays) is considered as one of the most important crops grown worldwide due to its chemical composition, nutritional value and its production potential, thus presenting considerable relevance in the socio-economic aspects. several factors interfere with the performance of culture and, among them, the climate is among those offering the biggest challenges for planning and management culture. Given the importance of the culture in national and global context, it is important to consider the future projections of production grain on climate change and consequently on food security in next years. Thus, we intend to evaluate the climate change impact on thegrowth and development of maize using a growth model plants, based on biophysical processes. For the calibration model will be used data obtained experimentally through scientific literature and simulation climate change scenarios will be held according to the program approach AgMIP. It is intended to work with the CERES -MAIZE / DSSAT model, with at least threeglobal climate circulation models (GCM's) regionalized and two economic scenarios (oremission) for the period 2040-2069(representing 2050). With this, the project contribute information relevant to maize front climate change global, as well as growth models studies of cultures in Brazil.
