Abstract

The use of composites for the aeronautics industry is growing, in due to they have fundamental characteristics to the setor: high resistance and low weight. The metallic composites are less known than the polymeric, and their use is restrict, owing to the fabrication processes extremely complex and expensive, making the adoption of such material more difficult. However, the technology is promising and this was the main stimulant, with the little you have on the subject, for the development of this research. Thus, the main objective of this work is the production by high-energy milling of a metal composite, in which the metal matrix will be Ti-6Al-4V reinforced with carbon fiber. The material will be characterized by optical microscopy, electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. All analyzes will be correlated with the mechanical properties of the composite.
