Abstract

We propose, in this project, the adaptation of position sensitive multiwire proportional counters to use as test detectors during for instrumentation in the development of the ALICE experiment upgrades. Our group is involved in the project of the FoCAL detector for the ALICE experiment. Over the next few years a number of prototype tests will be performed and we need to develop auxiliary instrumentation, such as trigger systems, beam monitoring, etc. Some of these systems are being developed by our group.
