Abstract This international PhD project will be done by the co-guiding of a Professor from Universidade de São Paulo and a Professor from Université Lumire Lyon 2. Therefore, the intention is to operate a double degree. This period in the foreign university, lasting 12 months, will be essential not only to establish the academic agreement, but also to deepen the intellectual and cultural knowledge of what is produced in France, mainly in what concerns the religion question, its interface with education and its influence in the construction of hybrid dispositions of habitus. This research project aims to guide the PhD development during this rich experience, in order to lead to the best advantages from the contact with senior researchers, in such an ancient culture, where there is a robust traditional discussion about social and cultural diversity, in which the debate related to secularism in public spaces and specific challenges trigged by this question in schools is of my interest.
