The aim of this study will be evaluate the microtensile bonding strength of self-adhesive resin cements to bovine enamel submitted to different surface treatments. Thirty-six Te-econom Plus resin blocks will be bonded to the surface of bovine enamel, divided into three groups according the surface treatments: Group 1 (control): no surface treatments; Group 2: 37% phosphoric acid during 30 seconds; Group 3: 20% polyacrylic acid during 10 seconds. Two self-adhesive resin cements will be used: RelyX U200 and Maxcem Elite (n=6). The samples will be stored in distilled at 37ºC for 48 horas and sectioned into beams with 1.0 x 1.0 mm. The beams will be submitted to thermocycling for 4 days. The microtensile bonding strength values will be measured in Microtensile OM100 machine. Data will be submitted to normality test and specific test to compare the means. (± = 0.05). Representative samples of all groups will be analyzed in scanning electron microcopy.
