Abstract

The aims of this study are to investigate the quality of life related to health and its association with sedentary behavior in children and adolescents students of the Elementary and High School in a public school and a private school in the city of Bauru / SP. The data will be used from the study "Quality of life related to health and its association with overweight in children and adolescents of Bauru / SP", developed by nursing student at the Universidade do Sagrado Coração, Elisama Ednil de Farias Soares in years 2013/2014. The questionnaires of socio-demographic characteristics and the Brazilian version of generic questionnaire Pediatric Quality of Life InventoryTM (PedsQLTM 4.0) were applied. The level of physical activity of adolescents was assessed using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire - (IPAQ). Anthropometric measures weight, height and waist circumference for the calculation of IMC and RCE were taken. For statistical analysis the areas of PedsQLTM 4.0 will be analyzed separately and consolidated with their respective syntaxes. Categorical variables will be analyzed through absolute and relative frequencies. Later, associations will be tested between the outcome and the explanatory variables through the chi-square and ANOVA. The analysis of the associations will be based on stratification by sex and age because it is understood that the determinants of HRQOL differ according to these variables. For all analyzes, the 5% level of significance will be adopted.
