Abstract This project intends to analyse the two most recent publications by Armando Freitas Filho - Lar, (2009) and Dever (2013) - emphasizing the poetic images about death and finiteness, observing how these recurrent themes of his writing get renewed in these latest books. Also of interest to us is how these recent works relate with the entire production of this poet, making use of the concept of the late style proposed by Thedor W. Adorno and developed by Edward W. Said. It starts from the assumption that, upon reaching the maturity level of his work, the author does not go into a process of conformity and serenity in relation to his creation, but reacts actively to any possibility of "finishing" of his style. This anxiety is enhanced by an awareness of transience and the finite widely exploited by his poems. | |
