Abstract

The mother-baby interaction is the most important interaction, because this enables the mother offers affection and security for your baby's development. If this does not happen, it can compromise the physical and mental health of the child.Hearing loss occurs on average 30 children per 10,000 newborn, this data is considered a high incidence. When parents discover the hearing impairment of the child, it is common to observe that they treat the child differently, then they need to reorganize and redefine their roles. Another factor that influences the mother-infant interaction and child development is the maternal emotional health, such as stress, anxiety and depression. Thus, identifying the stress levels in the child's caregivers is essential to provide support calls to her and her family. The aim of this study is to describe and compare the interaction of hearing mothers and babies with hearing disabilities and mothers and babies listeners, associating it with maternal emotional indicators. To assess the mother-infant interaction the Coding System of the Mother -Child Interaction Revised (CITMI-R) will be applied. To evaluate maternal emotional health the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), the Trait Anxiety Inventory - State (STAI) and the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) will be used. Participants: 50 mothers and their babies from four to six months of age, divided into two different groups, one group of 25 mothers of infants with any type and intensity of hearing loss and another group of 25 mothers of listeners babies. The data will be interpreted, categorized and described according to the riddles and calculation tables shown in the manual of each instrument.The mother-infant interaction will be encoded in accordance with the provisions of (CITMI-R). The results will be statistically analyzed for comparison and correlation of data. Next, the results will be described and analyzed in the light of the relevant literature. (AU)
