Abstract

The area of e-learning (electronic learning) has sought to join the growing immersion of young people in technology to the use of technology to supporting the development of learning. Within this context, the adoption of the new interaction technologies as NUI (Natural User Interface) become a challenge, demanding for studies focusing on the impact of these applications in e-learning. The NUI is defined as a means of interaction by devices that allows the user to make actions classified as "natural" when related to the real world. The main project goal is to investigate the interaction of children in applications of e-learning that use hands in natural user interfaces (NUI). The project looks for the identification of patterns of interaction in child between 7 to 11 years old when they are placed in contact with the NUI, in an application with a focus on learning, and they conduct the interactions with their hands. Aiming at the preparation and execution of the investigative process with the children, it will be prepared an intervention based on Action Research (AR), a research methodology focused on the discovery by the action; in which users and researchers work together into a research topic in a specific context. Among the contributions of this project it can be highlight (I) the investigation of the use of NUI for children in the context of applications for e-learning; and (II) the identification of interaction patterns adopted by children in NUI application by using of hands.
