Abstract

The existence of several types of skin tumors that differently appear macroscopically, if not properly diagnosed, it can lead to serious pathological effects in which often could have been avoided with an early diagnosis of the lesion. Thus, it is necessary to create an atlas containing images of typical and atypical lesions of skin cancer with the purpose of helping all health professionals during physical and suspicious examination for further referrals. Despite the great importance of education, there are currently few catalogs or books that contains images of cutaneous tumors. One project which already has started is the "Photographic cataloging of malignant skin tumors - Atlas " 2015. This project aims to continue, to contribute and to expand the project made last year by incorporating new images -sorting according to the diagnosis and subtypes- of new cases of skin tumors diagnosed in the Barretos Cancer Hospital. Patients with 18 years old and older, with suspicious lesions of skin cancer of The head and neck Clinic / skin and melanoma of The Barretos Cancer Hospital will be invited to participate in this study from August of 2016 to July of 2017. After the agreeing and signing an informative consent form, the participants with suspicious lesion will be photographed. With the aid of literature, the photographic material will be systematically organized and separated for framing neoplasms in classification according to their diagnosis, subtypes and characteristics. Photographs that already exist in the department of the Barretos Cancer Hospital will also be used.
