Abstract

In order to use the aggregate generated by recycling units in the production of concrete is essential to know its features. This study aims to assess the composition and variability of the characteristics of the aggregates coming from recycling of waste class A. Recycled aggregate samples will be collected with dimensions of sand ($max <4.8mm), aggregates maximum diameter from 4.8 mm to 12.5 mm and between 9.5mm and 25mm in two recycling units in the region. For each material will be determined its composition in respect of the presence of cementitious materials and ceramic materials, the module fineness and maximum diameter, fines content, water absorption capacity, bulk density, compacted bulk density and determining the content of sulfates and chlorides, these characteristics specified by NBR15116: 2004. Characterization tests will be performed in three series of materials collected on different dates. It is expected to expand the database on the characteristics of recycled aggregates which will allow later to know the variability of the characteristics of these materials.
