Abstract

Currently, eating outside home is a common practice, which contributes to the threats to the achievement of Food Security due to high intake of processed foods. Objective: To describe, in a qualitative and quantitative approach, the availability and the sales of food in the São Paulo Metropolitan Transportation Network, from the Food Security's point of view. Materials and methods: We will use a questionnaire to evaluate the availability, variety, quality, price and type of food sold inside four metro stations. We will assess the policies, norms and regulations regarding the food sales and conduct semi-structured interviews with those responsible for the formulation of those rules. Semi-structured interviews and sociodemographic questionnaires will be conducted with metro users to describe their perception regarding food sales. Analysis: Descriptive analysis of food sales and sociodemographic data and possible associations between sociodemographic data and user's perception will be performed using the software SPSS (IBM, New York, USA). The qualitative analysis will be conducted using the software NVivo10 (QSR InternationalPtyLtd. Version 10, 2012). (AU)
