Abstract

In traditional lectures, the student occupies passive position, "getting" teacher information. The use of active methodologies enables the student to participate actively in the teaching-learning process. In this context, in the Caries II course, taught in the first year of Graduate Dentistry FOP - UNICAMP, we have use the active teaching method called dialogic class (combined lecture with discussion of scientific papers and exercises) and issues via application for free mobile phone to teach the physiology of salivary secretion. The aim of this work is to evaluate the students' perception about these methods and their performance in academic exams performed before and after the implementation of those methodologies. These methodologies were used for the first time in 2015. We will assess students´ evaluation questionnaires on the aforementioned methodologies and the proportion of successes and failures in exam questions before (2012-2014) and after the use of these teaching resources (2015-2017).
