Abstract

This project aims to grasp some of the practices , representations and conflicts around an important field of grassroots football in the city of São Paulo. This is the Complexo de Campos de Futebol do Campo de Marte, space installed in a land conflict between Union and Municipality that threatens the permanence of grassroots football clubs installed there since the 1960s Combining ethnographic practice, interviews and documentary research, aims to apprehend both the collective arrangements, exchange systems and forms of sociability that articulate this space, as the strategies and relationships driven by social actors to remain in this field. Thus, it is expected to contribute to the understanding of what causes the grassroots football, even in an unfavorable environment, continue to occupy a privileged place as a leisure sport and popular associations in São Paulo.
