Abstract

This project seeks to continue the research in development, through a specific approach. The main issue is the contemporary urbanization. It is a vast subject, which we will study from its generalities and specifics. As a cut we propose the cases of São Paulo and Buenos Aires, and we will discuss them with an emphasis on three main dimensions involved, which are articulated: comparisons, Latin America and cartography. The first two collect results from a path already trodden for long time in these fields. In the third dimension, as more recent research that has been developed with an interdisciplinary group, which aims to research on new tools and approaches that have been developed to record, analyze and express the current urban phenomena. Simultaneously efforts are directed to the dialogue between two instances: the thought and project. In the latter case, we are interested in particular in the approach of the Strategic Territorial Project. For the development of these activities and knowledge we propose an exchange with dialogue already established and qualified researchers in Buenos Aires, in particular with our supervisor, Profa.
