Abstract

Our intention with this project is to study the rotating parking services in the city of Buenos Aires - Argentina and to make a comparison with the operating processes that occur in the city of São Paulo - Brazil, in order to understand the problem from a geographical perspective and the conditions of use of the territory by the different agents that aim to appropriate portions of the urban space for this purpose. The concession processes of these rotating parking lots have attracted publicly traded companies, characterizing their interest in these public spaces. In order to elucidate the process of action of financial capital in urban central spaces, the research will establish the relations of insertion of companies, focusing mainly on public and private agents that are inserted in these processes, observing the cases in the two countries mentioned. Thus, this project of Research Internship Abroad aims to correspond and complement the theoretical and methodological efforts raised during the development of the Master's research (FAPESP Case No. 2022/03387-2). In general, our methodology will consist in the survey and critical review of bibliographic materials on the issues addressed in this project, participation in conferences and scientific events on the topic of interest, monitoring of disciplines at the University of Buenos Aires (focused on the theme of urban mobility and urban planning), field work and technical visits to agencies and secretaries linked to the regulations of urban planning in the federal capital of Argentina.
