Abstract

The carbonate rocks, mainly limestone and dolostone, are the most common in the establishment of karsts, such as in Brazil. The karst landscape is bounded by the floristic composition, formed by a vegetational mosaic that has open and forested areas. Limestone outcrops in the Atlantic Forest are important to the biodiversity of neotropical forests, because they can act as genetic banks to endangered species. However, there have been few studies of floristics in these formations in the aforementioned biome. The main objective of this proposal is to realise a floristic survey of vascular plants in limestone outcrops in Atlantic Forest areas. Four excursions are planned to collect botanical material in the Parque Estadual Turístico do Alto Ribeira - PETAR and in Rio Branco do Sul - PR. With the results that will be obtained, it is expected to describe the species composition and richness of vascular plants on limestone outcrops in the Atlantic Forest. Furthermore, it is intended to establish the degree of similarity and the beta and phylogenetic diversities amongst the outcrops to be studied.
