Abstract

The increasing consumption of customized products and with short life cycle makes the global market increasingly competitive. Among the approaches taken to address these challenges, the following stand out: the "Industry 4.0", and the "Virtual Enterprises" (VE). The "Industry 4.0", known as the 4th Industrial Revolution is presented as the integration of the "Internet of things", the "Cyber-Physical Systems" and "Internet Services" with a strong cooperation among themselves and with the actions of humans on analysis, supervision and monitoring of the manufacturing system processes. In turn, the EV is a temporary alliance of companies that join together to achieve a common goal, involving cooperation supported by an efficient communication network, where each company focuses on what it does best. To address this new level of competitiveness, this research studies the combination of the two approaches, developing a System Architecture of Planning and Production Control for Virtual Enterprise (VE) meeting the requirements of Industry 4.0. The proposed research project abroad (BPE) considers the earlier works of several world research groups that collaborate with the Service-Oriented Computing Research Group at the University of New South Wales, led by Prof. Boualem Benatallah. Thus, the proposal aims at an effective engagement with Prof. Benatallah group to develop Web services, a case study and perform intercontinental tests with the architecture to be developed. This project is an evolution of the work developed in the Kyatera network project implemented in the process 03/08132-1 FAPESP, proposing to effect the connection with a network from abroad. In this proposal, the test of connection and integration of systems and equipment is limited to the equipment of Poli-USP, however, it is the first step for other Universities of the State of São Paulo that make up the Kyatera network to integrate systems and Intercontinental tests with the Service Oriented Computing Research Group of the University of New South Wales. The results of this work are considered to be fundamental to: 1) the technological development of enterprises in the country; 2) support methods and procedures for design, analysis and systems production project; 3) train specialized personnel via dissemination of scientific articles and to establish an academic research network.
