Abstract

The Guppy (Poecilia reticulata) is an originary fish from clear waters from the islands of Trinidad and Tobago, however it was spread by all over the world and now live in several types of habitats, even turbid water environments. The reproductive behavior of this fish for sexual choice use as base predominantly visuals orientations. Thus, we want to verify if in turbid water males and females of Guppies have adaptation mechanisms, morphological and behavioral plasticity in the following aspects: courtship behavior and male's coloration; choice of a partner and number of rods and cones of female, favoring the sexual selection in both environments: in clear water environments and in turbid water environments.
