Abstract

Transcriptome data integration and metabolome studies were conducted in plants demonstrating its benefits in achieving greater understanding of the biological processes of plants (Sana et al, 2010;. Caldana et al, 2011;. Teets et al, 2012.). In a study of the metabolome of sugarcane, some metabolites in particular have been associated with the level of sucrose accumulation, as galactosyl, the raffinose and trehalose (Glassop et al., 2007). Metabolites are potential phenotypic markers for the improvement of important agronomic traits. We planted the variety SP80-3280 in two seasons with different climatic conditions in the experimental field of the Agricultural Sciences Center of the Federal University of São Carlos. During cultivation were analyzed physiological, morphological and biochemical parameters. Samples were collected which will be used in metabolite analysis during plant development in different tissues. (AU)
