Abstract

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic degenerative disease that causes an inflammatory process, pain and swelling in the affected joint. Moreover, this disease generates functional disability and postural compensations, the most affected women. Thus, therapeutic strategies such as resistive exercise must be performed in order to act on these symptoms. Thus, the aim of this study is to evaluate the pain, postural changes and the functional capacity of patients with knee OA underwent an exercise program. For this, 20 women will be randomized into two groups: Exercise and Active Laser Group (EALG) and Exercise and Pacebo Laser Group (EPLG). Interventions will be performed at GE, 2x / week for 8 weeks. The exercise program will include heating, stretching and strengthening the major muscle groups of the lower limbs performed for 30 minutes. For assessment and reassessment of pain, posture and functionality of both groups will be used the visual analog scale of pain, photogrammetry method Postural Assessment Software (SAPO) and six-minute walk test (6MWT), and questionnaires as the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) and Lequesne, respectively. For data analysis, in terms of the normal distribution of the sample is ascertained to choose the appropriate statistical tests. (AU)
