Abstract

Although the cloudiness is one of the most important climatic elements, it is one of the elements less studied and understood. There are no studies in the Paulista West that satisfactorily detail this climatic element, mainly due to the seasonal climatology of the clouds. Therefore, this project was developed with the intention of introducing the student, interested in the study of climate, to scientific research on cloud climatology. At first, this study has a purely observational nature, but as the research evolves it is expected to develop the ability to understand and diagnose the variation of cloud types and their important role for the characterization of meteorological weather type.
