Abstract

This study aims the development and improvement of skills related to meta-omics dataset analysis applied to anaerobic digestion bioprocesses, through the use of specific and state-of-the-art bioinformatic pipelines (MG-RAST, FROGS) and robust and efficient statistical approaches (R packages). Therefore, the project has two main objectives: (i) mining existing public and private meta-omic datasets to uncover new knowledge on the determinism of bioprocess functioning and (ii) metagenomic dataset analysis from anaerobic reactor applied to laundry wastewater treatment with increasing surfactant specific load. For the achievement of the first objective, data obtained by Bioprocesses and microbial biotechnologies for the valorization of waste (BIOMIC) team will be used. For the 2nd objective, data obtained by the Microbial Resources Division team, during the postdoc work of Tiago Palladino Delforno, will be used. (AU)
