Abstract

The present proposal aims at studying metagenomic data from the anaerobic digestion process of citrus peel waste, as well as using statistical approaches (R software) for their analysis. Therefore, a comparative analysis will be undertaken between the inoculum used as source of fermentative microorganisms, namely the sludge of an UASB reactor for the thermophilic treatment of sugarcane vinasse, and the biomass obtained after the application of this inoculum in batch reactors for the production of biohydrogen from citrus peel waste. In order to be able to assess the biological reproducibility, the reactors will be conducted in triplicates during the doctoral research of the DSc candidate Franciele Pereira Camargo in the Laboratory of Biological Processes of USP campus São Carlos, while the processing of the sequencing data by means of bioinformatics and statistical approaches will be performed on these replicates with the team Biotechnological processes for the environment from the Hydrosystems and bioprocesses research unit (PROSE; IRSTEA-HBAN/Antony).
