Abstract

To evaluate the influence of degradation by the biofilm of S. mutans in the physical and mechanical properties of composites Bulk Fill. Materials and Methods: composites used in this study are: Filtek Bulk-Fill (FBF), Tetric Evo-Ceram Bulk-Fill (TEC), EverX Posterior (EXP) and Filtek Z350.It will be made 80 circular samples with dimensions of 5 mm in diameter x 2mm thickness used on surface roughness assays (Ra) and hardness (KHN); 40 samples with dimensions of 8mm diameter x 4 mm thick test for brightness (UG) and 80 bar shaped samples (25mm in length x2mm width x2mm thickness) for the flexural strength test (RF) .After 24 hours storage at 37 ° C, all the samples are polished and divided into 4 groups (n = 10) and initially subjected to tests Ra, KHN, UG and RF.As samples used in the assay Ra, and UG KHN , and new samples to the RF test are sterilized with ethylene oxide. All samples will be submitted to biological degradation by S. mutans for 7 days. At the end of the trial period the samples are washed in ultrasound for 10 minutes for subsequent reassessment of Ra, KHN, UG and RF. Representative samples of each group (n = 3) before and after biodegradation will be evaluated in a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The data will be evaluated for normality by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test (p> 0.02). Then the data will be submitted to analysis of variance of two factors (material and degradation) with repeated measures for testing the hardness, roughness and brightness, and analysis of variance of two factors for the row bending test by Tukey test (5 %).
