Abstract

Pre-mixed laminar flame velocity is an essential parameter to the description of a mixture combustion. In particular, ethanol mixtures have been receiving great focus due to their potential use as fuel in the aeronautical industry. Thus, the proposed research aims to study and conduct experimental tests to determine the flame velocity of anhydrous ethanol-nitrogen-air mixtures, at atmospheric and sub-atmospheric pressures. For such, the student will be supported by Dr. Andrés Armando Mendiburu Zevallos, associated to FAPESP postdoctorate project 2015/23351-9, to conduct experimental tests in the Laboratório de Combustão e Propulsão (LCP), at INPE.
