Abstract

The present project aims to set up a spectral library of soils of Brazil and to evaluate the variability of these as importance in the characterization and discrimination of soils. In addition, it is intended to develop an algorithm that allows the classification of soils via spectra. Land samples of complete profiles will be obtained by donation by researchers from all over the Brazil. The samples will undergo spectroscopic determination in the bands between 400-25,000 nm (Vis-Nir-Mir). With the established spectra will have two working modules, being: a) after obtaining the profile spectra with prior soil classification, a mathematical and modeling study will be done on the spectral variability among Brazilian soils; B) develop a database system for dissemination on the internet. It is hoped to build a database with soil patterns via spectrum that can be accessed by the community and thereby implement its use in future soil surveys. With this project, it is expected to result in a spectral library of soils available to the public. (AU)
