Abstract

This project aims at conducting a computational model of the heart, taking into account the mass transfer between the different cavities. Models previously proposed by the group will be used to support this model. The continuity, momentum and energy equations will be solved in order to predict the behavior of the heart and the interaction of hearts chambers. This model will be used as a basis for future comparison, from the exergy analysis point of view, of one health heart with one with one pathology, for instance, Chagas disease. In this disease there is a reduction in blood pumping capacity with respective hypertrophy of cardiac muscle. Therefore this model must have the parameters easy to modify in order to make theses changes possible. (AU)
