Abstract

The present project is based on the ideas of U. Dallman, at the end of the 1980's, that a global instability mechanism may exist on a two-dimensional recirculation flow, which under an infinitesimal perturbation gives rise to a totally three-dimensional flow. In previous works Rodríguez, Gennaro and Juniper (2013) show that in an incompressible flow, as bubbles of separation of a mechanism of intrinsic instability, which results does not arise from a three-dimensional structure. The main objective of this project is to study a primary stability of incompressible laminar separation bubbles generated by direct numerical simulations. The proposal of this work will be supported by computational techniques and tools already developed. (AU)
