Abstract

Sorocaba City, Sao Paulo interior region city, have a history characterized by troop market, trading, industries and railways, and great personalities like Baltasar Fernandes and Mateus Maylasky that are references to diverse researchers, as: Lucinda Ferreira Prestes (1999), Aluísio de Almeida (1981 and 2002) e Otto Wey Netto (2015). When reading the content of these authors is possibly to understand that the focus is about the traditional historic of the city, in others words, for the economical and political events, having importance only in the names of the high society, as mentioned above and their influences. Historically, Sorocaba city have a deficiency for a general vision, as characterized in New History, observing that do not exist citation and observation about the society, the folk and their costumes and traditions& Do not have a look "to down" (BURKE, 1992, p, 12-13) that considers each tradition, each evidence and each picture a document to be researched. The present research project is offering to broke this traditional paradigm and deepen the knowledge for this society wispy manifested by historians, specifically about the Sorocaba's children in XIX century and the history about childhood, registering in a documental form, to exceed the shortage reality of the production about the subject. The project will explain about the reasons to search this theme, as well as the objectives, materials and methods to be used and the schedule to be followed. (AU)
