Abstract

This research proposal presented comes around the analysis of human prehistoric material production, and it aims to articulate with Etnohistory an indigenous history of long duration on the territory of the coast region in Santa Catarina's state center. As it continues the author's research developed on hers final paper in graduation about guarani occupation on the state's central coast (with the emphasis on a case study of the archaeological site Travessão do Rio Vermelho/TRV), it is planned to increase the analysis of archaeological cultural (material culture) and ethnographic sources for the region and to discuss theorical and methodological aspects related to Guarani Archaeology in other regions of the south of South America. Though, with an interdisciplinary configuration this research project encounters the objectives of this science as it proposes the association of various areas and sciences (Archaeology, Ethnography and Ethnohistory) to compound an indigenous history of long duration, besides working with the concepts of territory and technology on the dynamics of guarani expansion and occupation.
