Abstract

The research aims to build the profile of absenteeism and readaptation to work of University public workers who have work absence due to illness between 2010 and 2015 and to estimate the possible predictors for them, from a nested case-control study.The investigation will present and analyze the characteristics of about six thousand episodes of sickness work absence, which some have culminated in readaptation to work, among about a thousand workers who were absent from work in the period, according to the amount of days absence and demographic variables such as gender, age, length of service in institution, marital status, major diseases that have had, function performed and qualitative information provided by the expert medical reports.The cases are workers who were readapted to work and controls will be those who had sickness absences but were not readapted. While cases of readaptation to work took place, there were cohorts of varying expositions to be defined from the latter and treated as time series according to the most relevant estimators obtained in the first design.The construction and analysis of the database will be processed after extraction of information from occupational information systems in specific analysis program for this purpose, as will be followed proper procedures to certain assumptions by the characteristics and distribution of the information collected, either for descriptive analysis, comparisons between groups or processes of statistical modeling.The results must have great relevance for the institution, because enable managers to understand absenteeism and readaptation to work from the demographic data of workers and formatting a sickening panel on campuses, guiding thus building coping strategies and actions minimize the harm to health of them and promoting health in the workplace; and also contribute as a database for researchers in ongoing and / or future studies.
