Abstract

With this research proposal we aim to analyze complex sentences (coordination and subordination) in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) in order to discuss their structure, including the use of conjunctions, and grammaticalization. By assuming grammaticalization as a key feature to the analysis of complex sentences and conjunctions we intent to offer a diachronic perspective of the phenomenon dealing with language variation and change issues.
