Abstract

The objective of this research project is to carry out an investigation on the relationship of disjunction in the Brazilian Sign Language (libras). Taking into account spontaneous data collected from the Corpus de Libras of the Federal University of Santa Catarina and the minicorpus of the Research Group on Sign Language of Unesp - SingL, we intend to deepen our analysis of how this relationship is expressed, considering syntactic aspects, related to the presence or not of conjunction, and prosodic aspects, related to the use of non-manual markers (MNM). Our theoretical framework is mainly based on research in other sign languages (DAVIDSON, 2013; PFAU, 2016; ZORZI, 2018) and on oral languages (SWEETSER, 1990), mainly Portuguese (NEVES, 2000; PEZATTI; LONGHI-THOMAZI, 2008). Our analysis will consist in the survey of the type and token frequencies (BYBEE, 2003), so that we can offer results, in any case unpublished, on the expression of the disjunction relation in libras.
