Abstract

Studies about plant propagation techniques of sweet passion fruit (Passiflora alata Curtis) are extremely important due to its great economic importance and because it is a way to overcome the limitations encountered due its high variability among plants and can therefore reduce the time of young plants formation in the nursery. Thus, the use of sterile substrate is essential for the application and evaluation of plant growth regulators isolated and the interaction of these with the essential mineral elements. The aim of this study is to evaluate the plant growth of young sweet passion fruit plants before and after the use of plant growth regulators, such as kinetin, gibberellic acid and indole-3-butyric acid, and its possible interaction with variations of the 'Hoagland & Arnon nº2' complete nutrient solution. Then, it will be tested scientific hypothesis that the interaction of plant growth regulators with the nutrient solution containing the essential mineral elements provide adequate nutritional and hormonal balance allowing more uniform young plants formation. The treatments will be constituted by the ionic concentration variation of nutrient solution and plant growth regulators leaf application. The plants will be randomly distributed into blocks with six treatments and 20 replicates, with one plant each. The plants will be assessed at sixty and ninety days after soaking (60 and 90 D.A.S). The data will be submitted to homogeneity of variances Test and to analysis of variance (ANOVA), and the means will be compared by Tukey's Test at 5% significance (pd0.05).Keywords: plant growth; plant bioregulators; essential mineral elements; Passiflora, nutrient solution.
