Abstract

Despite the fact that many quality tools are widespread in the literature for decades, achieve excellence in the quality of processes it is still a major challenge for companies. Among the quality tools, those that have statistical methods are the best to improve the decision making, and thus promote the achievement of better results. However there are still barriers to the holistic statistical view can satisfactorily achieve the business environment. Similarly, a concern in this environment is the misuse and conceptual errors that arise in the face of high availability and ease of access to statistical software currently, which promotes the question of how these misconceptions develop in the actions taken in the area of management quality. In this way, to analyze these issues, that can help in the expansion of knowledge about the dissemination of statistics, this project aims to identify the main barriers to the existence of a holistic view of the statistical power at the companies in Brazil and analyze the developments of the facilitated use of statistical software in the spread of this view. For this, the project will be based on a survey exploratory-descriptive survey with companies of the processing industry sector from southern and southeastern Brazil. (AU)
