Abstract The main goal of this project is to contribute to the formation of an undergraduate student through a theoretical and numerical approach of the gravitational N-body problem, including also non-gravitational effects as gas drag and solar radiation pressure. The N-body problem, in particular for N=3 can be applied to several problems in planetary dynamics and spatial engineering. For instances, those studying the dynamics of the Sun-Jupiter-Asteroid, Earth-Moon-Artificial-Satellite, Saturn-Thetis-Coorbital-Satellite, etc. This project spans the understanding of fundamental concepts of celestial mechanics and dynamical astronomy and applications to real problems by invoking numerical simulations.
