Abstract

In connection with our interests in the total synthesis of brazilian natural products, this project aims the total synthesis of (+)-Eremantholide A and the first total synthesis of (-)-Eremantholide C. Our novel asymmetric route to both complex natural products is based on a biomimetic approach, starting from a germacrane-type sesquiterpene already reported, which is derived from commercial farnesol.
