Abstract

Death is a setback in medical practice, and so, one must be prepared for this vicissitude. The subject of death was always treated within religions there are few studies in the medical field to relate the two issues, you can contact the topic of death and religiosity are away from academic life medical student. Thanatology is the study of death, which is encompassed within palliative care (PC). One of the CP objectives is to work the ability to deal with death. Moral, ethical and legal aspects related to death are confusing subjects to most students and little attention. Religion and spirituality are themes seldon seen in academic life. Aim: To determine whether there is a relationship between religiosity and thanatophobia in medical students. Methods: Two questionnaires will be applied: the religiosity (of lasting, modified) and Thanatophobia Scale (Mason) for medical students at the medical college FACERES Rio Preto, from first to fifth year. Results of the two scales will be compared, as well as qualitative analysis of some related open questions. (AU)
