Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the surface roughness and biaxial flexural strength ceramics Vita Suprinity subjected to different forms of polishing. Methods: 80 will be made specimens with dimensions of 16 mm diameter and 1.5 mm thick flat faces which receive finish by sanding disc (400, 600, 800, 1000 and 1200 mesh). Next will be divided into eight groups (n = 10) by changing the surface treatment: G1: (Positive Control) untreated; G2: (negative control) roughening with a diamond bur 3098 F, simulating an occlusal adjustment unpolished; G3: (FGI) roughening with a diamond bur 3098 F followed by the application of IPS Empress Universal Glaze (Ivoclar); G4: ( Fpol) Drill 3098F + Shofu system abrasive rubber (Shofu), felt disk (Diamond MGF) and diamond paste (Diamond Excel-FGM); G5: (F + FFPol) 3098F Drill + 3098FF Drill + polishing as done for the previous group; G6: (FFPol) Drill 3098FF + polishing as done for the previous group; G7: (FF) only setting with 3098FF drill and; G8: (FFGl) roughening with 3098FF drill followed by the application of Glaze (Ivoclar). All ceramic discs are driven individually by profilometer (Mitutoyo) and then subjected to biaxial flexure test on three levels in Universal testing machine (EMIC). Analysis Form Results: Initially there will be the Shapiro-Wilk test to assess the normality of waste to 5% significance. A statistically significant difference in initial hypothesis of equality of the effects "interactions", will be tested by means of model analysis of variance. (AU)
