Abstract

Aim: To evaluate the behavior of the characterization layer on high translucency zirconia (YZHT), lithium silicate reinforced by zirconia (ZLS) and feldspathic ceramics (FD) against the simulation of physiological wear with different antagonists. Methodology: 120 ceramic disks (14 mm diameter, 1.2 mm thickness) will be obtained, 30 of YZHT or FD, and 60 of ZLS, by cutting blocks for CAD / CAM using a diamond blade cutting machine under cooling. After the polishing of the samples with water sands of granulation up to 600 in automatic polishing, also under constant irrigation, all the samples will be cleaned in ultrasonic bath with isopropyl alcohol for 5 minutes. The YZHT samples will be sintered before receiving the characterization layer. The crystallization of the ZLS samples will be carried out together with the sintering of the characterization (subgroup "1", sintering / characterization in single step), or before characterization (subgroup "2", sinterization / characterization in two steps). The characterization will be applied on the samples according to the manufacturer's instructions and all the samples will receive application of glaze and due to burning. The specimens will be submitted to simulation of the physiological wear with steatite, hybrid ceramics or zirconia (n = 10) machined applicators. The height, spacing and hybrid roughness parameters will be analyzed before and after the simulation of physiological wear. The samples will then be tested for biaxial flexural strength (ISO 6872: 2008). The values of resistance to bending and roughness will be analyzed statistically. The data will be discussed in front of the relevant literature. (AU)
