Abstract

The recycling network of waste paper is composed by collectors and scrap dealers, who collect the material at the generation points and sell them to consolidators. These, in turn, market the material with the recycling industries. In some cases, collector cooperatives are able to sell it directly to the industry. However, most cooperatives are not able to guarantee the volume and frequency of deliveries to maintain marketing agreements. In this context, Lemos and Toso (2016) proposed a mathematical model for the configuration of a reverse logistics network of waste paper for the entire state of São Paulo, considering the possibility of opening storage and marketing centers in a cooperative network perspective, in addition to the possibility of direct sale and sale to the consolitadors. In this study we propose an extension of the previous model, in order to integrate the location decisions and flow decisions, considering minimum lot restrictions for direct sale, transport disaggregation, the inclusion of different waste types, besides dimensioning the necessary fleet of vehicles in the cooperatives.
