Abstract

The central objective of the research is to understand how France and Brazil, through their political and diplomatic relationship, have been building mechanisms of action and understanding in the international environment of 1985 to the present day. The foundation of the proposal recognizes that the end of the Soviet bloc has rendered the phrase "third world" anachronistic, and with that, France and Brazil have altered the quality of their relationship. Brazil has ceased to be a great third-country country in France, and has come to be understood as an important partner in the construction of an effectively multilateral world. The main argument of the proposal perceives as imperative to analyze these themes and problems from a broad empirical basis. Without a better empirical reconstitution of the period, possible theoretical explanations lose in substance and intelligibility. In order to give greater comprehensibility to the overall political and diplomatic interaction between France and Brazil as from 1985, ten case studies were elected - 1. Tancredo-Mitterrand Relation in 1985. 2. Impacts of the end of the Soviet world On the Franco-Brazilian relationship. 3. FHC-Chirac relationship. 4. The impacts of September 11, 2001 on the Franco-Brazilian relationship. 5. Relationship Lula-Chirac. 6. Impacts of the world financial crisis on the Franco-Brazilian relationship. 7. Lula-Sarkozy relationship. 8. Franco-Brazilian cooperation in defense matters. 9. Relationship Dilma-Sarkozy. 10. The Raffale dossier. (AU)
