Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the association between stress score and blood pressure variability in medical students and biological sciences. It is known that the prevalence of cardiovascular disease in the population is very large, which is not different in the medical profession, representing at that last a major cause of deaths among medical professionals. It is also known that health professionals, especially doctors, has a high incidence of stress during life, from pre-university and university period, just under the support of studies that show the relationship between high blood pressure and stress if conjecture that doctors may have cardiovascular risks from stress. However, it is also documented in the literature better efficiency pressure variation as the variable to be used in the diagnosis of hypertension. Thus, this study will evaluate the pressure variation of 50 volunteers, 25 medical and 25 from a control group of biology students, with their stress scores measured the ISSL. (AU)
