Abstract

During the development of a new aircraft several analyses are required by the certification agencies. Among these procedures, one of the most important is the aeroelastic stability, with requirements that can affect the design of actuators of control surfaces, total mass of the aircraft, and restricts the flight envelope. Particularly, the analysis of flutter is a topic of extreme importance. In this sense, this present research proposal comprises the study of flutter in a typical section of two degrees of freedom including equivalent linear damping to represent nonlinear viscous and magnetorheological dampers. These devices offer high power dissipation capability, with applications in engineering areas such as automotive suspension. However, they involve mathematical models of significant complexity for describing the damping force over time. Thus, the representation of these ones by equivalent linear models implies important improvements for engineering processes in frequency domain. The analyzes will be carried out in the frequency domain using an iteration approach, similarly to the formulation of the pk method. (AU)
