Abstract

Individuals with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) have several changes, most accompanied by vestiges that refer to imbalances in autonomic modulation. However, the bibliographic search did not find studies that dealt with the behavior of the same in relation to day-to-day situations, such as postural change. Objective: To analyze the behavior of autonomic modulation and cardiorespiratory parameters in response to postural change in individuals with DMD. Methods: A cross-sectional study with 64 adolescents, between 11 and 18 years, divided into two groups of 32 people each: DMD Group and control group with healthy individuals. The subjects will be submitted to the autonomic test of postural chance, which will consist of 20 minutes in the supine position, followed by the change to the sitting position, even with assistance, for another five minutes. Throughout the test, the heart rate will be collected by a cardio frequency meter for further analysis. Also, cardiorespiratory parameters will be measured before and after the tests. The heart rate variability indices will be analyzed by linear methods in the time domain (pNN50, SDNN and RMSSD), frequency (LF, HF and LF / HF) and non-linear methods (Poincaré plot). The personal data will be collected and the Vignos, Egen Klassification and Motor Function Measure scales will be applied to the DMD group in order to evaluate the functionality. For analysis of the data will be used analysis of multiple variance (MANOVA), which will consider factors 2 (groups: DMD and control) for 2 (moments: pre and postural change postural) with repeated measures for the factor "moments". The differences will be explained by Tukey's post hoc test. The significance will be 5% and the software used will be SPSS 20.0. (AU)
