Abstract

The ruthenium nitrosyl complexes had shown different biological activities, among them the antitumoral properties. Therefore, the aim of this work is the development of ruthenium-phtalocyanine conjugated with lanthanide dopped silica nanoparticles, once the nanoparticles absorb light in x-ray region and emit light in therapeutic window region, causing the nitric oxide release and allowing the application of those complexes in treatment of inner cancer types, as lung cancer. Besides the cytotoxic and structural studies over this system, the production of drug delivery system will also be done, in attempt to keep the silica-complex properties until it reach the target cell in biological medium.
